I'm packing as I head from Lucerne to Geneva for a watch exhibition, and one of my accessory musts is this new Cartier watch. I love its shape, size, dimension, and the fact that it’s on a matte brown alligator band. It’s elegant and understated so I can wear it day and night. The Tank was designed (and worn) by Louis Cartier himself, who was famously inspired by the shape of the tanks he saw rolling across the Western Front. This newest incarnation has a mechanical movement with manual winding, whereas before there was a quartz version powered by a battery. There’s something so nice about the tactility of winding your watch every day.
